Nike Air Max 90 “Surplus Supply” Armored With Removable Tongue Shrouds_Fashion at Your Feet

Military supply stores have been delivering durable and oft-affordable gear for decades. One of their arguably less-heralded endeavors, however, boils down to repurposing war-wear, an act that has inspired by Nike Air Max 90 “Surplus Supply”.

Set to launch beside an Air Max 95, the forthcoming pair indulges in drab green and grey across its mixed-materials upper. While sturdy, functional construction isn’t new to Tinker Hatfield’s 31-year-old design, the latest proposition features a detachable shroud perched on the tongue akin to what’s appeared on some Travis Scott collaborations. Orange animates swoosh and Air Max branding across the shoe, undoubtedly drawing inspiration from the flight jackets found at the aforementioned destinations. Underfoot, outsoles aren’t redesigned with military-ready functionality, but their earth tone palette further nods to the “Surplus Supply” theme.

A stateside Nike SNKRS launch may be in the works, but this Air Max 90 is currently confirmed to hit retailers in Asia on March 19th. In any case, enjoy images of the sneakers here below.
